Diatomaceous earth (D.E.) is a powder made from sedimentary soft rock.
Sprinkle this natural powder around your house or yard wherever you have ticks, fleas, ants, and bed bugs to kill those unwanted pests.
This stuff is cheap and safe to use around humans and animals.
Buy food grade diatomaceous earth for use at home and for pets. There is a difference between food-grade and filter-grade D.E. **Food-grade D.E. products are purified and considered safe for use around animals and humans. Filter-grade D.E. contains toxic amounts of silica harmful to mammals and is mainly for industrial use.
1. No more ants:
I sprinkle it on kitchen countertops along the edges and in cupboards from time to time if I start to see ants.
2. No more bed bugs:
I sprinkle it on top of my bed mattress once a month, spread it around the top of the mattress, leave it during the day and then vacuum it before bedtime.
3. No more ticks/fleas:
I have a garden so my dogs get ticks from time to time, especially after rain.
So I sprinkle diatomaceous earth along the edges of the porch, which is where my dogs hang out the most.
If it is going to be a sunny week, I will also sprinkle it on the ground in the garden where my dogs like to sit or lie down.
If I discover ticks on my dog’s body, I will sprinkle some on their bodies and use a comb to get it into their fur. The same can be used you see fleas. Luckily we don’t have fleas at our home.
