Fatty foods lead to deadly pancreatitis!
Notice fatty food is bad for dogs because it can lead to pancreatitis, which is a severe inflammation of the pancreas. This will make your dog very sick and can be fatal if not treated early.
After recovering from pancreatitis, it is highly likely that it will happen again because them your dog may become extremely sensitive to even modest amounts of fat content in his/her food. Best thing is to avoid it happening in the first place.
Years ago, one of my dogs had pancreatitis just from eating regular dried dog kibble and the only symptom I found was that he didn’t eat his meal. Some other symptoms that might (or might not) occur are listed below.
Older dogs may be more prone to pancreatitis so we need to be careful of what we feed them.
